End of O-Week

Far out!! What week to start my Uni life.

O-Week is done but it has given me a love of Uni already.
Since my last post it has been a hectic schedule of information lectures and social events.
Wednesday gave us a session on scholarships and how to apply for them. I was surprised at how many were offered to first year uni students. It's a good thing cause it gives me a better chance of getting one :)
On Wednesday night we had a night at the Ten Pin Bowling alley which was great. I typically started well but by the end of the night was bowling horribly. Oh well I still wasn't the worst. The bowling was a really good opportunity to meet a few more students from the uni.
On Thursday we had a treasure hunt which was suppose to be a competition but none of the boys could be bothered so we worked together and then used the prize to get everyone hot chips and wedges. Gotta love a free feed and there has been plenty of those this week.
As is customary with Uni students we spent the Thursday evening at the Pastoral Hotel with a few drinks, live band and more chances to introduce yourself to others. Everyone got a good sleep that night although some woke up a little worse for wear.
Friday was pretty much a rest day as we had nothing that we had to attend at the uni but we still had a 'Pool Party' that afternoon which unfortunately only about 8 people turned up to so we used the water slide for an hour then went back to the uni residences for a BBQ.
This whole week has been a great way to start and get to know the uni and the people I'll be spending the next four years with.
I've made friends heaps quickly and looking forward to hanging out with Hayden, Tim, Emma, Carmen, Lizzy, Caitlin and Tom more.
BRING ON THE NEXT FOUR YEARS!!!!!!!

First day of O-Week

So, O-Week has started and I've been to Uni for the first time.
At first I was a bit daunted but excited at the same time and then I found out that I knew one of the other students and that she was from my school. I also met a bunch of new people and had a great day getting to know them.
The lecturers all seem really friendly and they are very keen to see all of us do well over the next four years. They assured us that we can approach them whenever we need to and ask them whatever questions we want. I'm sure this will come in very handy as the next few years unfold.
The campus is quite small which is good because I'd probably get lost on a larger campus.
There are about 50 students in my course and they all seem like a good group of people and I am looking forward to getting to know them as the year progresses.
Tonight we had a meet and greet evening at the Western Plains Cultural Centre which was great. They put on free food and drink for us all, so naturally you take full advantage of that. It was also a great chance to get to know a few other students in a more relaxed environment.
As a whole I really enjoyed my first day onsite and can't wait to see what happens over the next four years.
Catch you all soon,
Zac

My First Blog

Well, the first of my blogs in '09.

Orientation Week starts next Monday and who knows what it may hold for me.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know the people that I will be in a clas with and build great friendships.
I'm sure I will find the information given next week very helpful as I am not aware of the way the CSU Dubbo campus is run.
I look forward to starting this new stage of my life and hope that I enjoy it as much as I anticipate.

O Week 2009, Bring it on!!!!
